We offer a variety of fresh, flavorful dishes from Southeast Asia. Try our popular tea leaf salad, one of Burma's national dishes, with its layers of flavors and crunch or enjoy one of our kebab stir-fries that so many diners love. We also feature a number of vegetarian options.
Our Story:
Specializing in Burmese and Thai cuisine, High Peak Asian Restaurant features a unique combination of dishes from Southeast Asia. Sharing borders with India, China, Laos, and Thailand, the culinary style of Burma (also known as Myanmar) is influenced by the spices, seasonings, ingredients and cooking styles of its neighbors.
Pah Dah was born in Karen state, Burma and fled to Thailand with his parents and siblings when he was 17. He lived in the camp for 14 years where he met and married his wife, Sue Wah, and they had three daughters. In 2009 they arrived in Oakland, California as refugees. Pah Dah eventually became an assistant and then cook at one of the San Fransisco area's top Burmese restaurants.
Moe Min Win was born in Karen state, Burma and left Burma to live with his uncle in Nu Po refugee camp when he was just 13. in 2009 he worked as a teacher for one year and a midwife with the American Refugee Committee for two years. He met and married his wife, Paw Eh Say, in Thailand and had a son there. They resettled as refugees in Oakland, California in 2014 and his first daughter was born. Moe Min learned his cooking craft at an Oakland, CA restaurant.
In 2017 Pah Dah and his family moved to Lincoln and he partnered with Moe Min Win to open High Peak Asian Restaurant in April 2018.
